Luxeon: A Luxury E-Commerce Platform With Admin Controls, Account Roles, Inventory and Financial Charts
Some businesses do not need a website with a shop attached. They need the system the brand runs on, with the storefront as one surface of it.
About the Client
Luxeon is a luxury e-commerce platform. It was built as an entire system for running a brand rather than as a storefront alone, and the live link is a full working demonstration of that platform.
The Challenge
A storefront answers one question: can a customer buy. Running a brand asks a dozen more. Who on the team can do what, what stock exists, which orders are where, and what the numbers say this month. Those answers usually get scattered across three subscriptions and a spreadsheet.
Stitching them together after the fact is what makes small e-commerce operations brittle. Every tool holds a copy of the truth, none of them agree, and the person who understands the joins is the only one who can change anything.
What I Built
Full admin panel controls, so the operational side of the business is a first-class part of the product rather than a plugin bolted on afterwards. Catalog, orders and settings are all managed from inside the system.
Accounts with roles, inventory management and financial charts, sitting on the same data as the storefront customers use. One record of what exists and what has happened, read by whoever is allowed to read it.
Under the Hood: One System, Several Surfaces
The design decision that matters here is that the storefront, the admin panel and the reporting are surfaces on a single system rather than separate products kept in step by hand. Stock counted in inventory is the stock a customer sees. An order placed at checkout is the order the charts count.
Account roles are what make that safe to share. Different people get different powers over the same records, so a business can put staff into the system without handing everybody the keys to everything. This is a full institution-based website, and that is what institution-grade means in practice: the system stays correct when more than one person is using it.
