About the Client

SoCal Meat Co. is a wholesale butchery in Corona, CA, moving real volume to restaurants and food businesses across the Inland Empire. They came to me through a referral from the owner of Desi Dhaba & Butchery, another Corona client of mine.

The Challenge

Their website had no backend functionality, and the business ran on scattered pieces: orders written down in the iPhone Notes app, orders arriving by text message, confirmations going out with no proper invoicing and no email trail. The most unfortunate part: they were paying for QuickBooks but had no idea how to use it or its financial reporting. Nothing talked to anything else.

What I Built

One wholesale e-commerce platform that replaced all of it. Customers order on the site and pay through a safe checkout built on the Intuit QuickBooks API. The checkout suggests additional items, and established customers can place last-minute orders based on their status. Every order triggers a custom, professionally designed confirmation email that I wrote and built.

No customer accounts required: the confirmation page issues an order number, and customers come back to the site, enter that number, and see a live, itemized, up-to-date status of exactly what they ordered.

On the admin side, I built automated financial tracking reports plus a most-popular-items report, finally putting their QuickBooks data to work without them touching a spreadsheet.

Under the Hood: Payments That Reconcile Themselves

The site talks directly to Intuit's QuickBooks API. When a customer pays, the transaction lands in QuickBooks already categorized: no manual entry, no end-of-week reconciliation session, no receipts in a shoebox. The same pipeline feeds the automated reports, so revenue tracking and best-seller analysis update themselves from live order data. The QuickBooks subscription they already owned but never used became the financial engine of the business.
