Restaurant & Butchery · Corona, CA
Desi Dhaba & Butchery went from near-zero weekly delivery-app orders to a steady stream of direct online orders they own, with zero commission fees.
Desi Dhaba & Butchery is a halal restaurant and butchery in Corona, CA, serving fresh-cooked Indian and Pakistani food alongside a full-service halal meat counter. They found me by searching for a local web developer with real industry-level engineering experience.
Grubhub and DoorDash were eating away at their profits, taking commissions even on online pick-up orders. Meanwhile those third-party orders had dwindled to almost zero per week. They wanted a website that was more accessible to their customers and opened up order pipelines they actually own: orders paid up front, confirmed instantly, with no middleman taking a cut.
I built them a custom website with full online ordering and Clover payment processing, drawing on 6+ years of experience migrating and integrating RESTful APIs. Every order is paid before it hits the kitchen. My professional photographer shot their food menu and butchery cuts on site, so the menu sells with real photos instead of stock imagery.
The piece that changed their daily operations: every online order triggers an instant text message to the kitchen. No tablets, no extra hardware, no missed orders.
When an online order comes through Clover, a Twilio SMS fires to an on-site phone carried by whichever head chef is working that day. Clover's own solution for kitchen notifications would have been another digital printer system at $119 per month plus thousands in hardware purchase and installation. Instead: Clover order event, my backend catches it, Twilio sends the order details by text. $10 a month, works on any phone, and it has not failed since launch.
"So helpful and attentive to detail, definitely will work with him again."
