Wholesale Butchery · Corona, CA
SoCal Meat Co.'s customers watch their delivery approach on a live map instead of calling the shop, and drivers run routes optimized against live traffic.
SoCal Meat Co. is a wholesale butchery in Corona, CA, delivering to restaurants and food businesses across the Inland Empire. This is the second system I built for them on the wholesale e-commerce platform covered in its own case study.
Wholesale delivery lives and dies on timing: a restaurant waiting on meat for dinner prep can't plan around "sometime today." Customers had no visibility once an order left the shop, which meant phone calls to the shop, phone calls to the driver, and deliveries that felt lost even when they weren't.
A delivery tracking system wired into their admin web application. When the team updates an order's status for delivery, the customer's tracking page switches to a live GPS map showing the driver approaching, with position pings every 2 minutes, alongside an email confirmation that the order is on its way. Customers pull up their order by order number, no account needed, and watch the truck come to them.
Drivers don't just get tracked, they get routed. I built route optimization using algorithms that weigh gas cost, travel time, and current Google Maps traffic data to sequence each day's deliveries. The route recalculates against updated traffic conditions, so the plan reflects the 91 as it actually is that morning, not as it was last week. Less fuel, tighter delivery windows, and an honest ETA for every stop.
