A Southern California SEO Backend for an Indian Catering Company in San Dimas

Catering is a lucrative business, and Rasoi has a strong reputation in Southern California. Calls and leads had still dropped, because their website was not working as hard as they were.

About the Client

Rasoi Catering is an Indian catering and events company based in San Dimas, cooking for weddings, celebrations and corporate events across Southern California. Their reputation in the region was already strong before this project started.

The Challenge

Reputation does not travel by itself. Rasoi had the referrals and the standing, but the searches that decide a catering booking often start with somebody who has never heard the name, months before the event. Those searches were going elsewhere.

The website was the weak link. It described the business without being written for the way people look for catering, which is by event, by cuisine and by the city the event happens in. A caterer who staffs events from San Dimas out across the region needs a site that says so in a way a search engine can read.

What I Built

A full SEO backend catered to all of Southern California rather than one city. The event types they actually staff each get their own treatment, so a search for a wedding, a corporate lunch or a family celebration lands somewhere specific instead of on a single generic services page.

The front of the site was rebuilt to match, leading with the food and the events rather than with paragraphs about the company. A caterer sells on appetite and on trust, and the page order now reflects that before it asks anyone to get in touch.

Under the Hood: Written for the Search, Not for the Brochure

The backend work here is content architecture more than anything clever. Catering searches split by cuisine, by event type and by geography, and a site that answers all three on one page answers none of them well. Giving each of them somewhere of its own to live is what makes a regional caterer findable outside the town they cook in.

Structured data, fast static pages and headings written for real queries do the rest. None of it is exotic, and all of it was missing. Within about a week of launch, Rasoi was being seen, and an inquiry came in almost immediately.

The Results

  • An inquiry within about a week of launch
  • An SEO backend written for all of Southern California, not a single city
  • Event types and cuisine covered separately, so each search has somewhere to land
  • A front page that leads with the food and the events instead of company copy
