Wicked Bio is an e-commerce business in Riverside, CA. They found me on Google as a top-rated web developer in their area and reached out through TikTok.

The Challenge

A full e-commerce business running with no scalability underneath it: no admin dashboard, inventory tracked with pen and paper, and every product update announced through social media posts. The business was growing; the tooling wasn't.

What I Built

A custom e-commerce platform built for their reality, including payment processing through a high-risk payment processor integrated directly into the site via REST API, something most template platforms simply refuse to support. On top of payments: inventory management with self-serve item creation, an invoicing feature that sends customers order confirmations and receipts, promo codes for discounts, and custom-designed order confirmation emails. And to replace the social-media-post update cycle, a full custom newsletter system with designed email templates.

Under the Hood: The Newsletter System

Product updates used to mean writing social posts and hoping the algorithm showed them to customers. Now Wicked Bio writes an update once in the dashboard and it goes straight to the inbox of 300+ subscribers in a custom-designed email template that matches the brand. Signups feed the list automatically from the site, sends are self-serve with no developer in the loop, and the audience belongs to the business rather than to a social platform. Four hours a week of update-writing became one send.
